Norfolk Island Pine

I've had a Norfolk Island Pine for about 7 years. I bought it as a 10" seedling in a small pot and have since transplanted it only once, about 6 years ago to a fairly large pot. It is now about five feet tall and about four feet wide (in other words, huge). I am contemplating moving soon (to Bayside, NY in Queens).
Will this tree survive outside, or must it be kept inside?
I'd appreciate some advice. I've grown rather attached to the tree and would hate to do anything to jeopardize its health.
