Take some time to go back and find some old threads about raising grade. There has already been much good discussion about that.

If you raise the grade that much you WILL kill the trees. Treat the trees with the respect and dignity that they deserve and cut them down now, before they slowly die with no grace and dignity!

You might be able to salvage some lumber out of the trees. That would be a nice honor to the trees. White pine wainscoating would be beautiful! What about floor to ceiling paneling of White Pine?

Don't worry about saving the rainforest, stop urban sprawl!
