Pointsettias are a plant that require a certian amount of darkness to bloom. This is called a photoperiod. This would depend on your location but about 13 hours of complete darkness a day for about six weeks. If interested in more information contact texas A&M university in their horticulture department they have great resources for the production of pointsettias.

good luck.
