Neither Dursban nor Lindane are systemics. The general
rule when one has a serious problems with a borer type of insect
is that the tree is past help. There are injectible types
of systemics but I'm not well acquainted with how they would
work with this problem. I woulnd't go to the expense for
a Bradford Pear that is already in bad shape. Good luck.
