There is research project being run in Wisconsin using Saran wrap on wounds. In the first bit of research, they found that sealing the wound tightly with Saran wrap kept decay from growing and stimulated closure.
I think that this was reported in the Journal of Arboriculuture already.
Gives new meaning to the term"Band Aid".
