anthracnose/leaf spot on norway maple

Has anyone heard of the recent outbreak of anthracnose on the various maple species'
of the Northeast? I am interested as to how widespread the problem actually is and what
tree care profesionals are doing to appease their clients
panic upon seeing severe cases of the fungus. I am refering to the Didymosporina(sp?) leaf spot and the Kabatiella(sp?) apocrypta strains of the anthracnose.
