Weeping Cherry/Trunk

Help, my weeping cherry tree is in trouble. The bark of the tree is beginning to peel away from the trunk and sap is beginning to run out of it. Is this normal, I haven't seen any other weeping cherry tree do this. Please help me. I love my little tree and don't want it to die.
