Many people come to this site for an exchange of information. For all of the folks who post here on anything like a regular basis (and I do remember seeing your address many times before), not once have I read anyone say, "THIS is the only answer - treat your tree like such-and such and all will be fine." No, the people who do provide literate, intelligent suggestions are doing just that - providing literate, intelligent SUGGESTIONS. For every who posts with a tree problem/question, the solutions all come back phrased as "Here are some likely answers, but here are some important questions; look into it further." Any medical doctor would most likely do the same when talking to an audience broader than his/her own specialty - which is what this site is about.
And without exchange and dissemination of info - even basic, sketchy info - I'm sure that a significant portion of the general public would end up going to a tree "butcher", rather than talking semi-intelligently with someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
