I regularly hear the advice " Keep the mulch back from the trunk " It seems like
good wisdom but I have a problem.
Last November whilst looking for mycorrhyza in Boone NC I found myself digging through
10-12 inches of natural forest mulch against the trunks of oaks maples and pines.
These trees seemed to be having no adverse side affects.
Your thoughts?
