Prophylactic sprays of general fuingicides may offer limited protection, but once infected, at best, such treatement may slow the spread but will not eliminate it.
In my experience, a combination of pruning out infected branches and spraying seems to have a slowing effect. However, once cankers or even sap extrusion become apparent on the trunk, treatment is ineffective.
Plant non-susceptible replacements.
