Ambrosia Beetles In Oak ? Spray?

Caller asked if there is any thing to be done about Ambrosia Beetles attacking an Oak. I understand they are wood bores. Effecting the woods structural qualities not the living growth processes.

Since they are inside would not spraying be effective on the emerging insects only? Are they only leaving or might they re-enter? Presume spraying may negativly influence beneficial populations indiscriminatly.

Would appreciate some thought here.
