Ammonium sulphamate. You must be aware that adjacent trees of the same species could be killed if they have originated from suckers of a single parent tree. Many species have root grafts and poisoning one tree can lead to the death of, or damage to, several trees.

in the UK the following species are particularly susceptible (this list is by no means exhaustive:

Fagus
Acer
Populus
Salix
Ulmus
Malus
