Any ideas on how to design/build a driveway over the existing root systems of an amer. beech, and red buckeye? A customer has recently purchased an historic home surrounded by mature trees and wants to create a driveway where conventional contruction would doom these trees (edge of proposed driveway is ~8' from base of 30" dbh beech) I'd like to offer alternative(s) - she'd like to preserve the trees. What would be the least disruptive approach? Please respond with references I can refer to if possible.
