You dont even have to take them out of the apple although eating to the core makes
good sence. The great granny smith apple grew from some rotten apples thrown on the
compost heap. Try pacing the core about an inch below the ground and keep moist.
The best apples however are those that are grafted or grown from cuttings. There are
now a number of specialist growers that can provide 2-5 different varrieties of apples
on the one tree.
