The book inspired me to take portions of Single-Leaved Ash (Fraxinus excelsior diversifolia) and shield budding a graft onto a number of Common Ash (Fraxinus excelsior). We had only one Single-Leaved Ash in our locality and it was to be removed for development. The outcome is we now have many Single-Leaved Ash.
What is the philosophy behind this. I do not know and really do not care!!
Except a particular rare species continues to survive.
I should have been there for the dinosaurs (but they could'nt have afforded my fee).
