Last Nov at TCI I spent a lot of time talking with Erk Brudi about the Cobra system. In the next few weeks I will be installing my first Cobras. After thinking about the limitations of metal vs Cobra I feel that Cobra is the way to go.
I have many samples of old cable anchors with mild to severe decay pockets. The way Cobra works I cannot see that we will be damaging the tree anywhere near as bad, if at all. The simplicity of the installation is very appealing too. A pair of scissors and a lighter!
For the past year or so I have been rethinking cabling trees. I feel that Cobra is a HUGE step in the right direction.
TREEDOC, what limitations do you see with Cobra? I would like to compare notes and ideas about this system to see if your conclusions are anywhere near mine.
Strong ropes and flexible bracing!
