Hi,

Not to support ad lib fertilizers, I think Tom is asking a good
question. We accept that Shotgun or One Treatment Cures All treatments
are undesirable. The question is what do my captive urban trees want
that they would normally get in a forest. If we are growing turf, removing
wood (carbon)and leaves or grass (nitrogen) then how do I compensate for this.

I again state that some of the new matterial comming out on replicating forest
conditions is eye opening. The company Plant Health Care and in particular
Dr Don Marx are producing some great matterial on this. In years to come we
will not think of fertilization as "feeding trees" but as special care for
"captive trees" provided by those who care and are truely knowledgable.
