Hi Cindy,

Over the last few months I have been giving your question more
consideration. We keep and breed tree frogs (Litoria sp) here
in our lab. They came out of hibernation and feeding started.

We get a large range of insects by turning lights on at night.
I thought if insects a attracted to lights then there could be
all sorts of associated problems. In particular unseen damage
such is caused by many subteranian beetles such as scarabs whose
lavae eat on roots.

They are muched loved by our frogs and in the right climate arrive
by the thousands. The adult is also good at stripping the local
Eucalypts.

I again suggest if lighting is required consider uplighting and
limmit the time light is on.
