I fully understand the concept and biology involved. I thought you were talking about existing standing trees, not tree moving and was simply amused that there was no mention of root size and gave the reader the impression that it didn't matter how big the root was, as long as it was cleanly cut and allowed moisture quickly. This data could obviously create problems by allowing entrance to pathogenic decay organisms or create tree instability. As for xylem conductivity, the company are presently looking at ring porous and diffuse porus species relationships, faculatively deeper rooting species and soil moisture abstraction on low permeable clay soils, consequential soil volumetric change and building subsidence. Just one of the variables we talked about.
