I'm not sure. I guess some people backfill the planting hole by jumping on it or
something. Certainly in other parts of the world trees are planted when its wet by
matter of neccessity and I certainly like using lots of water after transplanting.
Be sensible and dont compact the soil. Air pockets are fine.
