To answer your first question: This was nothing more than
a "baited" question/statement. I wanted to measure up
your ability to laugh. Waffle less?, it shouldn't take more
than 6 seconds to read. But I would still like to poke at you
with a stick.
Now your in the "down under", I don't know a damn thing
about the aussies or it's climate.
But, here in the states 9 out 10 will hold you to a guarantee
even if they hit it with a lawn mower, and or put hot water
on the tree. How does that happen? Easy, a black hose full of
water sits in the full sun, say 100-200' now not checking
they just pour it on, 5-10 gallons of 150 degree water
won't help the tree at all. They didn't even realize what
they have done.
Most people in the U.S. are seeking the lowest price, that's
it! But I feel this is true no matter what country your in.
Let's not talk about that large company in Texas, their
average price to move a tree is probably $50,000. Our problem here
is extremes i.e. March-May 40-70 degrees, 1" of rain per week,
June-July 70-100 degrees no rain, nothing. Winter time, like
today 70 degrees, but in 3 days the high may be 30 degrees.
Back & forth, never the same.
Micro-organisms? why did you mention that? I never said
we plant in soil less potting mixes.
Irrigation? Are you going to stop by & check it once a week,
at no charge?
Doctor's save the lives of thousands? Some do & some don't
but, they do charge for ALL services!
Did you ever have a mechanic work on your vehicles?
Did they get it perfect? or did they charge you for 3
parts when it only needed 1 new part?
I won't go about this, because you know what I mean.
That's just my stand, we receive many calls each year
for a estimate(removal)for a lighting struck tree.
Now should I drive 30 miles, so the person can get
the highest bid to only get the money(from insurance company) and have a local
& a jack leg will do the work for 1/6 of my price?
I usually tell them we charge for a quote, this thins out
the "tight" people.
I'm not mad, by any means. But we should charge for our services
this will "help" the future of tree work in all parts
of the world. Many people don't charge for advice, because
they don't know what their talking about!
If we're "tree doctors" let's charge like all the
other "doctors" in the world!
