Who properly identified the species of insect as a borer?There are weevils that damage under the bark of the top lead,and borers that infest standing dead wood.The channels seen could be from activity of an insect in a tree already dying from other causes. Be sure you are treating the problem not a symptom. When using pesticides follow the lable instructions.
