A local firm trimmed my trees last season. New growth all
along the lower branches has sprouted this season.
I understand the trimming was to enable nutirents to reach
the upper branches. Now that there are all sorts of new
branches sprouting down below, have I created more problems
than I solved. That is, do I need to remove the new growth
this fall? If I leave the new growth which will fill in the
tree to make it bushier, am I harming the upper branhes which
will get less nutrients than before?
Please help.
