I have just returned from walking our dogs in the neighborhood. I was appalled to see several mature trees that have been cut at the "Y" juncture by our local power co., Arizona Public Service. A very old and tall cottonwood tree, for example, was cut off on the east side, leaving full branching of heavy limbs over a home. Won't this cause the tree to die? Or at least to fall over in the next major windstorm? Can you advise us of any possible deterrents to the power company, who used to just trim subsidiary limbs near power lines, coming back periodically. This is a new and potentially devastating policy. This is the older surviving sector of Tempe, much of it irrigated and thus having many old and huge trees. We prize them. Thanks, Pat K
