House across the street got tore down and a new 2 story
built. The builder treated the Magnolia with the white
injection things, put a fence around it and lots of other
preventative stuff to protect. Came thru well. Now, after
the couple moved in, the tree has way too many yellow
leaves with a fungus on them and on places on the trunk.
Has a lot of new blooms coming out. Neighbor said an
Arborist said its chlorotic, fungused and stressed. Ph on
the new turf is above 8.0. Neighbor told to treat fungus
with spray application, both external and systemic, and
root-feed with nutrients. I ahve watched this tree from
a sapling and its never done really great, although it has
had some good bearing years. Tree is 15-20 years old and
trunk is approx 1 to 1 1/4 foot in dia. What can my
friend do to help it? Please e-mail me directly as I
don't check this group often. Posts to this group would
be good for the other folks.
