the most accurate field test Ph meter we have found is Doggetts'. taking four or five soil samples from around the tree or shrub..putting them together in distilled
water...let sit for an hour...agitating occasionally...insert probe and get a digital readout...within .01 of lab results.
Fine powdered elemental sulfur to bring down soil Ph...have to be patient, takes about 6 to 8 weeks.
