In Miami, Fl. for 6 years. Norfolks were fairly common. They were tall maybe 120' susceptible to wind throw because of the thin soil strata (under a foot in depth) but cannot recall ever seeing one that was broke off. The limbs however were very brittle. One did not step beyond a foot from the trunk or it was likely to snap abruptly. I have literaly snapped the limbs of by hand. one drag of a sharp hand saw is sufficient to cause them to break off.
