Oak Tree question

I have 3 newly planted Water Oaks and 1 Willow Oak, 1 1/2 years old and 10" tall.
They are replacements for 4 Tallows and 1 Arizona Ash trees. Tallows are 30' tall and Ash is 40' tall.
I planted the new trees about 10' away from each of the old ones. My question is should I cut branches off the old trees to clear the sky for the upshot growth of the emerging new trees. I am planning a 5-7 year conversion of this project so I will continue to have shade.
