If my memory serves correctly, materials such as this
are translocated to foliage and do not remain in xylem
long enough to affect bark beetle larvae. Chemical
prevention of bark sprays is what is used here to control
adult beetles before penetrating bark. Maintaining good
tree vigor is the best control in the long run, so that
trees can resist attack and succesful invasion. Debbie
