Preventing messy fruit drop

Does anybody have any experience with, or are able to recommend a
chemical treatment to prevent fruit-set or to cause fruits to absise?
The particular species in question is Ficus macophylla (Moreton Bay Fig)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
