When my neighbor cut down an adjacent pear tree, I didn't
get any fruit the next year. Faced with almost the same
problem you have, I cut off a pear tree branch from a
different tree. I walked around the tree, shaking the branch,
and making a buzzing sound. Worked fine! I got a bunch of
fruit that year.
