Hey Paul, good man, you kicked the GITB (greedy incompetent tree butchers) right between the rear pockets. I have panned the competition in the yellow pages and note the following self-professed tree worker companies:

- 1 who is fat as a pig, cannot climb, and sends his men to do the hard stuff that would kill him

- many who advertise they have have hundreds of years in experience, but do not say that experience has been as utility labourers, or raking leaves for little old ladies on weekends

- some who advertise as fully certified, but are referring, deceptively, to chain saw certification

- many who do their work incompetently, and outside of industry standards(I have witnessed a cable job that utilizes what appears to be a 1/8 inch threaded rod at a point about 15 foot from the top in an acer saccharinum 60 feet high, to join two vertical members that emanate from a common branch union at a point 14 foot from the ground(narrow branch union with included bark) and NO BAR BRACING HERE - I was doing some tree damage repair next door and noticed this hazard specimen and warned the owner to keep his children away from this tree on windy days. The individual who did this has and advertises one of the longest experience periods in the area but as the saying goes, wooden shoes, wooden head, and wooden listen, he knows it all and will not listen to a lowly double certified arborist like me. Guess what is going to happen some windy day when the tree comes down and smashes the house, when the insurance company calls me to do a report on the damage and I have to list several vi
olations of industry min
imal standards - this clown will listen then but i hope someone is not killed

- some who advertise as dangerous tree specialists - I guess they do not know every tree is potentially dangerous

- etc etc etc
