I agree with you on the Riveted plate VS. the glued on plate...If you looked even closer and seen another differance in the better Stihl saws there manufactuering site...The saws with the glued on plate are made here in the USA, the riveted plate saws are made in Old west Germany or Germany...After Germany became one country again Stihl put Germany on thier saws...Before the country was divided Stihl would only put West Germany...Now this USA and Germany with Germany being the better saws thing is true for saws made a few years ago, but I believe now all models of Stihls are being made here, I think because the high demand...
