The 026 is a very fine saw, the mid range saws tend to get the most work out from arborists, as "dblbraid" said a 20" bar is ideal 8" to 10" of chain less to push around really makes a big diference in power.
Ours last approx. 1 year before they get rattle'y, wear point's are muffler & cylinder/piston, however rough handling can (as with any saw) cause shock mounts to go, I also find the oil and Gas caps can give you problems if a screwdriver is constantly used to tighten & undo these caps as the molded insert is just to deep.
The see-through gas tank is a good idea, I am sure you will be happy with it.......What took you so long to get one?
