I suppose I didn't think before saying "it's a great size saw for
crane work." We have a real small crane compared to what you guys
are probably used to working with so I bet we take about 3 times
as many pieces. An 046 would just be too much for removing everything
down to the wood.

Do you have a saw between an 020 and a 044? I always use an 026 when
piecing down small to medium sized wood. An 044 or 046 is just to big
to comfortably control in small wood (for me anyway) and an 020 wears
my arms out too fast, you don't have as much leverage with top mount handled
saws. The company I used to work for used a 266 Husky with 24" bar, it
worked pretty nicely for this purpose.
