Well let's see,
Quercus marilandica muench.
I think is the correct name for this
species. The first time I came across
this species I tried to punch out
the first dead stub I found. I also
broke my hand. This tells one of two
points, the wood is very strong or
my brain is slow. Not to be repeated
a second time. Yes, the tree grows
very slowy. If you have fertilized
the tree with barlett "Boost"
you're in deep trouble. It's 28-7-7.
Do all trees need a lot of nitrogen?
Did you watch the person fertilizing
the tree? 3 holes or 50 holes? Did it
go past the drip line? How many gallons? or pounds of
fertilizer were used? Many un-answered
questions! From your reportings, I think
the tree is a good site for breeding insects
nothing else!!!!!!

Via mucho nitrogen!
