First of all, a stitch locks does not
give any strength at all. It's just
a lock as a key to show nobody has
screwed with the splice.
Now second,
If you have an interest in splicing
I can dig that. Are you trying to save money?
If that's the case you're in deep trouble.
I called, you can call for yourself.
New England, Samson, you name it. They
said 80% of all the(tree men splices) they have seen are
incorrect! Now if you're just a little company
with no insurance and paying no workers comp.
You're cheap, go for it. Also cheat on your taxes!!!
Remember folks, if you OWN YOUR OWN COMPANY
and want to gamble then go for it. If you alter
the integrity of the rope YOU are responsible.
If you're using the M/T you don't need a splice.
If you're using it as a false crotch, how many
are do you need a year?
Buying splices from manf. is like having cheap insurance
when someone sues you, let them go after the PERSON
WHO ALTERED THE ROPE!!
It's not hard THINK, THINK, THINK
