"Mine is the worst" and customer satisfaction

What do you call the phenomenon of the customer in the back yard looking at the tree work, and you can tell that he has thought about this work some what, and he talks about the work like it might be the toughest job there is, certainly the toughest one he has seen. Then if you let him he'll jack the price up as he talks.
Do you know what I mean?
Is there some kind of tree job envy that customers get or are they embarrassed about not doing the job themselves?
