OK... here I am, or at least one of the tree people "up" here... Funny thing about southeast Alaska... while walking in the woods, and a bear shows up, EVERYONE becomes an expert tree climber, or a very good shot. Alaskan Tree People concern themselves with odd things like "ice worm infestations" (hopefully on the tree)....

Topping trees seems to be OK up here. How else would we make fishing poles big enough to catch the fish around here? Personally I like to use the 3/4 inch arborplex line for halibut fishing, but you have to use a thimble and a spliced termination on the end or the fish get spooked by the loose tail off a figure eight. I was going to try the "split tail system" but the local Game Warden said it is illegal unless fishing for Canadian Sockeyes. After all the Canadians have been caught catching Alaska Marine Highway Ferrys illegally on mulitple lines. You know the rules.... one fishing license; one line in the water...

I can tell you that the miseltoe up here is very small; proportionate to the cold weather outdoor style affection that can be mustered up....

There are more than one of us up here, but never in the same place at the same time.

Come on up and take a look around...
