Bob,
I have read your complaints regarding the November Purge, and I sympathize strongly. As usual, you have made a strong case fro your arguments.
I certainly harbor no love of censorship, but I fail to see why the ISA shouldn't run its website the way it wants. A few months ago, when tinges of racism crept onto our page, I posted that we risked dividing and conquering the potential audience for this page rather than uniting and learning from each other. I still think that is a valid reason to edit content.
I am torn here; I value free speech highly and I see the dangers you warn against. But the bottom line is, when you're in my house, you obey my rules.
Having said that, I must agree the censor in question seems to have been rather capricious and heavy-handed, but alas, we live in an imperfect world. While you complain fiercly about the loss of some messages, others complain that the anonymous messages should be eliminated. Someone has to draw a line somewhere (ambivalently, I wonder if that's really true).
Anyway, I admire your convictions and will understand if you never post here again, but I hope you will reconsider. I have found your input to be entertaining, thought-provoking, and in general a boon to this discussion group.
See yu in the trees,
Keith
