I am afraid of electricity. My first experience with it I was seven or so. I used to love taking everything apart. If it was in the garage it wasn't safe from me. My father put my mom's old broken record player (remember those) in the garage to be tossed. My first mistake was plugging it in. My second mistake was not unplugging it before I stuck the screwdriver inside a hole. The thing held on to me until the fuse blew and then tossed me backwards a few feet. My father came out to see what happened but I was smart enough to know that he didn't need to know the details. I answered all his questions with the response i had learned from my older brothers (Gee, I don't know dad!)
At any rate, I've read books and have had classroom instruction through ACRT but I am smart enough to know that a book and a classroom are a small part of learning this job.
For me to climb an electrical pole and be prepared I need more than spurs, a saddle and a rope. I wouldn't climb one unless you or someone equally as qualified were there to make sure I didn't do something stupid.
