I will take your remarks as more reflective of the many arborists who haven't written in, but don't perceive women as a threat--real or imagined.
For those writers who question the "masculinity" of someone who defends women as arborists or simply as women, I will remind you that sticking up for women has been a long-established male preoccupation in the human race. (And yes, I do mean it both ways.)
