I personally have never met the person, but from what I have
heard, this climber was working for himself or doing a buzz job.
Around here we have tulip poplar, oaks, pines that will
grow 100-140' tall, at 70' they might be 20"-25" in diameter.
I don't know if he was chunking wood or what, but he did
saw his lanyard in half.
He landed butt first, he did live. He did sustain
many fatal injuries.
Just a quick point, if you're climbing, try to keep
your mind & thoughts "focused". It's easy to get tired &
bored. Always be prepared for the unexpected!
