For professionalism, well I do fully understand your point.
A good point at that, but keep in mind things are changing
we all don't speak with a old english accent, don't you think we're looseing
our intelligence? But then again our goverment almost accepted
a new form of speaking & spelling, ebiphonics!(need spell check)i.e.
I be here Tuesday, what you want, boy!
Now would you call all our threads narrow & stupid?
The problem is you think what is written & implied here
is the determining factor on the advancement of arboriculture.
You're wrong again, the fine people here are only a small
amount of the cream of the crop!
The people you want to talk to are those who never heard of
insurance, worker's comp, knots, trained by instinct. The best
point, I don't need your book smart, I'll under bid you &
get the work. About 6 years ago one person so impressed
by Dr. Shigo, felt He should single handly stop all topping
as "in progress" his first attempt netted his buttocks in jail!
Now for your thoughts on buckets & chain saws!!!!!!!
I'll use a bucket every chance I get, the other day we removed
a black walnut 60' tall with our AL-50, with our disc chipper
it was all down & chipped up in 30 min. & with a lot of lowering
to boot, one leader was 20' past the gutter. We tip tied, butt
hitched, chunked and let it fly! While the ground crew cleaned
up, I pruned the Oak over the house & every cut I made was at
the collar. In June of 98' I'll bet you'll see a nice "donut"
forming! But then don't you agree that we should be hanging in
on a flip line because the tree has no central leader, tired
sweating like hell with a shit load in your eyes, burning.
Now make a perfect cut, there's a good boy!
When you go to work I hope you run or ride a bike a good 30
miles, hell we are all lazy. Should I go on?
I often stay up all night before a large removal, otherwise
I would be lazy.Correct? Now, I'll be 55' high beore you thrust,
footlock or any thing else. You must set a line first, now
you have injuried the bark. Pruning at 25' have you ever done it?
The PS-50 offers a pole that can swing the saw head for a perfect
cut. I have gone back years later to check my cuts, they look damn
good. A lot better than the guy who knows nothing about collars!
Don't compare us to medical doctors, they charge for everything
even when they don't know you will pay! Let me say this,
if you told the medical doctors they wouldn't make no more than
$50,000 a year I'll bet you'll see the field cut in HALF!
It's all about money, if you think different, you're nuts!
Don't even try to compare this to line clearance work.
The tree comes #2 or #3 not important.Tree harassment,
now we hear the national news pronouncing this word two
different ways. Is this the same problem you're seeing
urban pruning vs rural?
Now lookie here, I'm getin a might bit sleeply. Let
me kick it to de curb, my feetz are gett'in cold.
One last point, one last point, one last point
one last bitch,T.C. Industry vs T.C. profession
study it, learn it, enjoy it, just do it!
Then decide what works for you! not L.C., but you!
Not the urban tree, but you! Not Joe's top & drop, but you!
Learn a new knot from a person you thought was a jerk,
remember they have also felt your pain, maybe in a different way
but it worked for YOU!
Tim, devote your energy to negitive work
and you'll find Hell!
Devote your energy to improving your skills
and you'll be the best!
P.S.
