I quit doing Jamborees because I believe the AR's are BS.
Unless the victim is dead , you have to stabilize him .
The neck braces that EMS services use are lightwieght
and take about 30 secs to put on . I don't understand why
you can secure a victim in an overturned car or smashed
under fallen debris , but when it comes to tree rescue
just rip him out of the tree. If he is bleeding you must stop
it in the tree . What good is ripping a man out of the tree
gonna do if you make his injuries worse. If the victim is
dead you better just leave him there to some higher authority
get's there. All the ARs at Jamboree's are based on the man
not breathing , but they don't judge you on CPR. Have your
class practice identifing injuries . Have them place splints
on fractures , neck braces etc.. Have them stop bleeding .
Are they there to help or to be a hero? AR can stand for
Absolutley Ridiculous depending on how you do it.Tell JIM
