Good topic D.B.. When I was on my first crane job the climber evacuated the tree alltogether to let the crane break off the jump cut. Causing a temendous amount of strain on the crane. As an apprenice I could see that this strain is unnecesary.
As a top climber it was my turn to do a crane removal.I cut right through that large leader let the weight lay on to the crane nice and easy.When the job was over the operator commended me.
I'm not saying I'm the first guy to do this or the only guy to do this.It just made sense.
