You mentioned that you are using a spud gun to set a line in a tree. Maybe you can help a like-thinking climber. I have been trying to build a spud gun but haven't figured out the right dimensions. My barrel is 2" pvc about 20" long. The fuel chamber I have used is 4" pvc about 2' long. the sparker is from a gas grill that I epoxied into the side of the fuel chamber. To date I haven't had much consistent luck with getting a good launch. Also, what do use for propellent? I have used hairspray with a high alcohol and propane? etc. Would you help me with some dimensiojns?
