CBT Testing Now Includes Municipal and Utility Specialist Exams

CHAMPAIGN, IL (May 28, 2009)-Professionals interested in taking the exam for an ISA Certification credential may now select a date and location of their choice. With its new expanded contract, the International Society of Arboriculture now offers computer-based testing (CBT) for four of its six certification exams at authorized testing centers. For a minimal administrative fee, applicants have the option to test through CBT delivery rather than paper-and-pencil exams.

With the availability of computer-based exams, applicants will no longer have to wait for open exam dates in their area and will be able to test closer to home. Other benefits include saving time and money, as well immediate notification of whether they have passed or failed.

CBT for the Certified Arborist exam is currently available at nearly 300 locations in North America and Canada. ISA is also now offering Municipal and Utility Specialist and Board Certified Master Arborist exams at CBT locations internationally. Applicants can view available testing locations at the ISA web site.

The computer-based ISA Certification exams will be delivered exclusively through domestic and international Pearson Professional Centers as well as Person VUE Authorized Test Center Select locations outside the United States.

"When an organization transitions from a paper-and-pencil testing program to computer-based testing, there are many benefits for test takers," said Robert Whelan, president of Pearson VUE. "ISA candidates can expect a high-quality testing experience in our test centers." Pearson VUE will have ISA certification program testing locations throughout the United States as well as select locations around the world.

"ISA is excited to move our certification process into computer-based delivery," said Derek Vannice, ISA Director of Certification. "Our candidates now have more opportunities to obtain their certifications through the expanding Pearson VUE global network."

Interested applicants may visit www.isa-arbor.com/certification/certification for more information on CBT and available testing locations near you.
