Safety Specialist - Create Training Initiatives

Location: Indiana

SUMMARY
Safety Assurance Specialist A is an advanced tree care industry Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) position that reports to the Director of Safety. This individual will perform field safety observations as well as work with the Director of Safety to develop, implement, and maintain OHS programs and initiatives.
 
TRAVEL
Frequent overnight travel should be expected due to varying project locations throughout Indiana and Ohio; will support other states as needed.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a safety role
• Experience identifying training needs, developing and then implementing training materials.
• Advanced understanding of federal and state OSHA regulations and requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter capable of seeking out and helping to implement process improvement opportunities in an industrial environment.
• Proven ability to collaboratively implement and sustain effective safety programs.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments at the same time and follow projects to completion.
• Willing to work additional hours as required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation management, facilitation, training, and leadership skills.
• Strong strategic planning and change management skills.
• Excellent people skills including conflict resolution and situational leadership.
 
TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
• Awards or accolades for accomplishments in safety improvements.
• CSP or ASP certification 
• OSHA Outreach Trainer
• CTSP Certification
• ISA Certified Arborist
