Plant Health Care Specialist / Development Coordinator

Town Branch Tree Experts, Inc. is seeking a Plant Health Care Specialist/Development Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate is an ISA Certified Arborist or is certification-eligible and has at least three years of field experience, possesses excellent tree identification skills and has functional knowledge of insect pests and diseases common to our area.  

Responsibilities include performing site assessments, administering insect and disease treatment applications, conducting monitoring visits, keeping records and writing progress notes, maintaining equipment, managing inventory and regularly interacting with clients.  While we focus of environmentally responsible treatment options, knowledge of application methods and chemicals is an essential part of our Safety Policy. In addition to treatment applications, our Plant Health Care Program encompasses additional field services, such as air work, to improve growing conditions and correct problems within the root system.  

This position offers enormous growth potential to quickly excel into a division management role, in which case additional responsibilities will include scheduling work, training and managing new field staff, keeping updated the GSH Hazard Communication program, working with clients and sales arborists to develop management plans, including treatment schedules and costs. This would also lead to a key role in helping maintain and develop existing policies and procedures, best practices and new methods to ensure and improve productivity, safety, ecological impact and ethical considerations of the program.

Requirements for consideration include:

  • Kentucky Pesticide Applicators License (will help acquire, if necessary)
  • Valid Kentucky Driver License (no DUIs in the last five years)
  • DOT Physical and Medical Certificate (provided on hire)
  • Three or more years of industry experience (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of trees and the common threats to their health
  • Willingness and ability to learn and excel in this area of specialty
  • Professionalism, trustworthiness, integrity, ability to work independently
